Maths
Why Maths? The main focus of this A-Level is Pure Maths. Covering topics which tend to be mainly algebraic in nature, you develop your understanding of these concepts and improve your logical reasoning skills so you can begin to solve challenges that occur frequently in modern day life. As the course develops, the topics become increasingly related to real life and it becomes clearer how these powerful new techniques can be related to industry and the financial world. |
What do I need to know? Exam board: We study Edexcel Maths. Entry Requirements: As well as the standard Sixth Form requirements, you must also have Grade 6 or above in GCSE Maths. Key Content: As well as the Pure Maths content discussed above, other branches of Mathematics studied are Statistics and Mechanics. These topics have a more specific, but equally important, relevance to life. |
What is the work like? As an example of the kind of work that you will cover during the A-Level course, please find to the right the pre-A-Level material that we ask Year 11 to complete before starting their Maths course with us. |
