Our results at A-Level place Twynham School amongst the very top performing schools and colleges in the country. Students leaving the Sixth Form increasingly gain places at the highest quality universities and the country’s top specialist arts universities and colleges.

Students at Twynham Sixth Form are celebrating fantastic A-level results in 2026, achieving the school's strongest progress outcomes in recent years and securing places at leading universities, prestigious degree apprenticeships and a wide range of exciting destinations.
Amongst this year’s highlights, one in five grades were at the very highest level of A*-A, more than half of all grades achieved were at A*-B, and almost three-quarters were awarded at A*-C. In addition, early indications are that students across the cohort made significant progress throughout their time at Sixth Form (with a provisional value-added score of +0.18).
The school has also seen continued success in closing attainment gaps. Following a concerted focus on supporting disadvantaged learners through its "Spotlight Five" initiative, the average grade achieved by disadvantaged students improved again, building on last year's strong performance.
Kate Ball, Head of School at Twynham School and Sixth Form, said: "We 
are immensely proud of our students and all they have achieved. These results are a testament to their hard work, determination and resilience, as well as the dedication of our staff and the support of families throughout their journey.
"What has been particularly pleasing is the progress students have made from their GCSE starting points, resulting in our strongest value-added outcomes for several years. We are also delighted to see the continued improvement in outcomes for disadvantaged students, reflecting the impact of the targeted support and high aspirations we have for every young person."
Several subjects achieved particularly impressive outcomes. In Further Mathematics, an outstanding 87% of students secured A-A grades*, while Mathematics saw almost half of students achieve top grades. Strong performances were also recorded in Economics, Psychology and Sociology, while students studying Photography and Dance achieved a 100% pass rate at grades A-C*.
One of the students celebrating was Martha, who achieved an exceptional three A* grades in History, Politics and Spanish. She has secured the grades to study Law at Exeter. Martha said: “I have been pushed and challenged at Twynham to do the best I can for myself.”
Josh secured A* grades in Mathematics and Further Mathematics and will progress to read Mathematics at the University of Oxford. Josh has also been supported by receiving a university start up pack from the Billy Lardner Foundation. Billy was a student at Twynham School, and this legacy foundation has supported a number of Twynham School students in the last 2 years. Josh and his family were excited to receive the pack this morning and wanted to pass on their thanks to Billy’s family.
Harry showed remarkable determination in overcoming significant health challenges to achieve three A grades in History, English Literature and Sociology AS Level. He will now study English Literature. He said: “Twynham has been a great experience in my academic journey. After my spinal fusion surgery, they were extremely helpful and caring and supported me back on track in school.”
Oscar is also off to to Exeter to study Medicine after spending the last seven years at Twynham. He said: “At Twynham Sixth Form there is a perfect balance between independence and support, from both academic and pastoral point of view.
Other students achieving three A grades or better included Daisy, Bradley, Lyla, Leo, Gregory, Eva, Harvey and Kenzie.
While the majority of students will continue their education at university, increasing numbers are choosing high-quality alternative pathways, including prestigious degree apprenticeships with PwC and JP Morgan.
